Scott’s Journey
Growing up in the Midwest, I was aware that I was different. The gentler qualities that I engendered were seen as “odd” or “less than.” Like most highly sensitive people (HSP) and empaths, I was clever and intuitive enough to figure out how to get along, fit in reasonably well and put a stop to the bullying and teasing I experienced in my earlier years.
Due to circumstances outside myself, I left home at 16 and was forced to grow up pretty darn quickly, working full time in the evenings and weekends - barely scraping by in school. Quite literally, the day after graduating high school, I was in my first “real job” and trying to navigate the lower rungs of the corporate world as an HSP.
In my mid-twenties, I began questioning my life more deeply and while seeking out meditation instruction, I stumbled on Buddhist teachings that were about kindness, presence, gentleness, and connections to nature. Being highly sensitive, I had often been criticized or taken advantage of for these qualities. Here I was, exposed to the new possibility that these characteristics were perhaps more positive than negative and that there wasn’t anything at all “wrong” with me.
Although I did not yet know about the highly sensitive trait, I was learning a lot about myself and having my life experiences validated by what I was learning. Because of this, I mustered up the courage to begin re-writing the narrative of my life.
I started intentionally choosing my environment - the people, places and experiences that supported my way of being in the world. The next 25 years were full of profound growth, learning, healing, love and play. There was a very specific moment when I realized that all of the growth, healing and studying wasn’t merely for me, but I was actually committing myself to helping others, especially HSPs like me. My personal and professional goals merged into one clear focus.
I am a certified life coach who loves supporting thoughtful, sensitive, conscientious adults navigate aspects of life that can be rough and murky. My greatest joy is helping others discover and live into their most inspired lives, whether or not they fit within our cultural norms. I have an expansive toolkit that spans wilderness therapy, ritual and ceremony, somatic psychology, neuroscience of growth and change, meditation/mindfulness, diversity and inclusion and trans-generational trauma healing.
As a psychotherapist for the last decade and an advanced bodyworker for 15 years prior to that, I have a depth of expertise in the somatic (body-centered) psychology of coaching and the neurobiology of lasting human growth and change. Through decades of working within these fields, I have developed the Somatic Re-patterning Approach, which is the flagship modality of my personal life coaching practice.
As a student and teacher of Buddhist mindfulness and meditation, with a deep spiritual path rooted in my own Indigenous heritage, I have a particular affinity for working with clients who are in an inquiry process within themselves about spirituality, soul, purpose and those that are ready to be change-makers.
Whether you are clear about how you want to influence the world, or are on the journey of discovering what your purpose is, I would like to support you however I can. Reach out and schedule a consultation and we can determine if my Inspired Life Design Program or Empowerment Coaching Program are best for you.

“Scott's genius is in combining all of his skills and areas of knowledge, letting the boundaries between these disciplines soften. Scott works deeply with the whole person-- body, soul and psyche-- not excluding any part of the human experience. He is gentle, open, warm and loving, and a deep listener. Best of all, his deep desire to help grow the wholeness of his clients is apparent. So that we too, can bring our greatest gifts to the world. We need more of this kind of practitioner in the world! I am grateful for this man's gifts and celebrate that he is offering them to us!”
